Trump Tariffs & Trade (TTT or T³) - March 4 2025

It seems the T³ will come into effect March 4, 2025. We don't expect that the tariffs on Canada's most important export Oil and Gas will last for long. The tariffs on the other sectors in Canada WILL remain. We have a strong Premier here in Alberta. Our future Prime Minister Pierre Poilievre will work hard for the interests of Alberta. The economy of Alberta is the most important one within Canada. From the tax base based on our income taxes Alberta tax payers contribute the most in transfer payments to Quebec and the rest of Canada. You look after Alberta and the rest of the economy will fall into place.

This is the wrong time to introduce any carbon levy. We here in Alberta know climate change is not real. Oil and gas do not have a negative effect on the environment we all know this. I expect minimal effects to the Alberta economy and things to recover within a week. The other industries in Canada will see a 25% tariff and a slight decrease to their economy. It should be noted we here in Alberta have a greater share of exports than the rest of the country. My question is to the rest of the country what are you doing to assist the Alberta economy? You have benefited from more equalization payments than Alberta has ever received. It is now time to help look after Alberta. We would like to see an Action place to get the economy of Alberta kickstart the engine of the rest of the country.

We here in Alberta will be much better off as part of the USA than Canada. Our values and ethics are more closely aligned with the USA.

In Canada we have too many lefties who think climate change is real in order to control us. We have been blessed with oil and gas so let us use it.

I’m looking forward to a referendum here to join the USA and leave Canada.

Alberta is an afterthought every time, bet we’d get treated better as being part of the US. Time to go!

I’m worried the government of Canada is doing nothing at all to help Alberta with its response. We should stop exports of natural resources from Ontario and Quebec for once. Why does Alberta need to take the hit all the time in any trade dispute?

I totally agree with the other posters. Alberta is the engine that drives the economy of the rest of the country. Something needs to be done now, not later to protect jobs here in Alberta.
