Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

RTO

Has anyone else consulted a lawyer to see what happens if Dell tries to force those with disabilities back to the office? I'm sure there's going to be legal battle soon enough over this.

American Disabilities Act covers folks impacted and Dell must be compliant. Everyone else just go back to the office. Nice full parking lots around 176 & 228 looked great yesterday!

I was hired remote with a medical exemption. Physically, I cannot drive and would have to buy a customized vehicle and get a license to get to the office as it is I was hired remote with that medical exemption. My new boss is half a country away and so is my team. I think it's clear they want to fire me and hire someone local. Just because they changed policies doesn't mean I should lose my job.

You would need a really strong case to win that one. Especially if you were not hired full remote. Most states are at will states. You will likely just come out with lawyer fees and a wfr. It's what industry is moving towards now. May not be logical for mamy jobs but it's a tough market and full remote, especially for a new ho-e
is going to be a challenge to find. You can try to fight it or just move on if you are unhappy. Choice is yours.

No risk for RTO. If you can't work, you can't work. It is needful we work in the office. If not, the folks in India or the Philippines are ready to do the same thing at a fraction of the cost without unions clouding the process. Quite easy premise. Ask your neighbours!
