@kc+1jnksy6tm apparently you must be new here. This site is more transparent (considering the anonymous piece) than official leadership. And more reliable and accurate than their SOPs. We really don't come on here asking why. We come on here to find out who and when. Apparently, you haven't scrolled long enough to see people who were not even offered the buyout being let go after the deadline. To wonder, means your tenure is not long enough to know better. But please don't waste that good energy & faith. Since you feel the need to scold someone for causing fear & the memo didn't come from BT in purgatory, then answer the call that's coming from inside the house. They're holding on line 2 for you.

There is always a Q2 layoff latest pattern is first month of the qtr at least on optum side. But they just bloodied the kn--e and took out most of tier II IT support yesterday.

How do people know layoffs are coming in April or May. If you’re not in higher leadership you would not know this as a fact. Quit trying to scare people. I mean people are told that the company now has to hire cause more than enough took the buyout then why would they do layoffs?!?!

To the person worried about taking the VSP, don't worry. Layoffs are following in April. Some departments may need some extended agreements, but not all.

For the one who was asked to say, what team/role are you in? So they didn't approve it? Or offered you something extra to stay? And for the one who was asked to extend, do they offer you extra?

I put my request in the first day it was open. I'm guessing they would have already reached out to me if they wanted me to stay. The wait is a little nerve wracking but this is just a fraction of what I would have experienced had I stayed.

Wow! My head is spinning! I wanted to stay- got scared and signed up for vrsp and to hear that people are being asked to stay and now they need to hire more people:( I am upset I opted for vrsp! Oh well:( sigh

What the he-l? Why delay the inevitable? Just be done unless they can give you some sort of job security ( they can’t ) why would you stay ? Idk you have to do what’s best for you but given the writing in the wall … I wouldnt
