Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Sycamore employee

I'm currently a consultant for Sycamore working on this acquisition and I just have to say you all need to calm down. If you think we are coming into this with some "master plan" to shut the company down, you're crazy. There will definitely be cuts, there needs to be, you ran the company into the ground. However, the majority of the company will remain "as is" for a few years to come while we try to learn the mechanics of it. Stop panicking, do your jobs and you'll likely be fine.

Having worked at a company acquired by these Sycamore, I can tell you that many people will be forced out. Day 1 the general partner of Sycamore came to our MA headquarters and met with us (directors) and promised things would remain the same. Our CEO, SG, told us this was all good. Lots of positive talk. Then a month later massive numbers of directors and VPs were let go, including the CEO. Sycamore will just leverage the company, sell the assets, and pay itself back first. Sorry to say.

Sycamore has around 100 employees. The most common title is Vice President. Other titles include Finance Manager, Tax Manager, and Principal.

I've never known those types of people to take on unnecessarily liability by posting in online forums in unprofessional manners.

Whatever. Why would you be on this? Too funny, actually its not funny at all.

"You ran the company into the ground?" Well Mr. so called consultant...why would they buy a company that has gone from $100 billion in value to under $9 billion, buy a company that has lawsuits nonstop and will be paying out a lot in the uncoming months, BILLIONS owed in taxes, a company that has 1200 stores about to shut down, nonstop bad publicity every week. POOR employee motivation and morale to say the least, and that is just the tip of the iceberg for things. Doesn't sound like a very good investment to me does it.

“You ran the company into the ground.”

We followed the direction of our leadership/Board, and the leadership/Board ran the company into the ground.

LOL
This post is so clownish
People are going to lose their jobs even if they've been doing what's asked. Blame them for the current situation to justify the layoffs. We've been doing our jobs, let's see how well you do yours.
