Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

I'm petrified

I can't afford to lose my job right now for a whole list of reasons. I've been trying to line something else up just in case, but it's slim pickings. This is going to be a long week.

I have been here 20 years+ and I have been through a lot of JE's but I have never seen anything like what is happening now. I also have been on pins and needles since last October. I almost wish I had never found this site, it makes my anxiety so high because most of the time it is right. At least there was some solace in them only letting people go on a non-pay week so I could breathe easy on pay weeks. Then they let the coaches go on a pay week. It would be so much better if they just told us so we could at least prepare for what is coming up but that will never happen.

Don’t worry about it until it happens. I see a lot of folks freaking out of here when they haven’t been played off yet. My best advice after 10 years at Cigna is document as much as you can about your work, supervisor, team, anything that seems weird too.

Nothing is pointing to coaching that I’m aware of. They were told last month that there would be a reduction. The way it sounds, this “reduction” will take place later in the year.

Is severance guaranteed for people laid off? What about if on a PIP within past year or worked here under three years?

Are we still thinking coaching teams this week?

I'm sorry you have to deal with this level of stress, it's beyond draining. I hope things pan out for you and that you get a job at a place that doesn't make you live in te---r like this house of horrors
