Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Why hire somebody just to lay them off within months?

We lost a guy who started six months ago. I can't understand why they would hire somebody just to get rid of him a few months later. I feel so bad for the guy, he's one of the good ones. He left another job to come here and now they kicked him to the curb. Lousy way to treat people.

Get out when you can. Even better if with a severance. The good old boys club still runs the show. With constant badge swipe monitoring, constant meetings outside of normal business hours and no support of family life - it’s beyond toxic.

Well, they laid off VP Annette Graham, and she’s been here less than a year.
They laid her off just a couple of days after she led last week’s Optum Talks meeting.

Horrific but not at all surprising. Get out while you can.

I am really sorry to hear this. They did this in 2019. In fact, they hired two people for my department knowing they were losing the account in two weeks time! They tend to layoff Antoine under two years to avoid severance.
