Lake grove store possible close

Do you think the lake grove store will close now that Wegmans has opened right next to this store? Is this the death blow?

I’m out of the loop nowadays but as of 3 years ago they were doing 1.2m-1.3m a week, so it’s probably similar or a little higher now. That’s not the type of volume store that closes unless there were some very unusual circumstances.

10+ years ago Fairway opened in the same shopping center that Wegmans is now in, LGV was probably only going 5-700K a week at that point and everyone was worried. Fairway lasted a year before they closed. When Trader Joe’s moved right across the street there was no change. I know Wegmans is a different animal and I could easily see it hurting them a bit, especially in the short term, but in no way will it cause them to close. LI is still a growth area for WFM and LI has a super high rate of Amazon subscribers compared to the national average. I see no way any LI WFM store will be closing anytime soon/ever.
