USDOT says Verizon 'not moving fast enough' on $2.4 billion FAA contract
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said Verizon is "not moving fast enough" in its $2.4 billion 15-year telecom contract with the Federal Aviation Administration. Duffy, who plans to ask Congress for tens of billions of dollars to reform air traffic control, spoke after Elon Musk's Starlink unit last week denied it wanted to take over the Verizon FAA contract. "I want companies that want to move fast, Duffy said at a press conference.

These type of things never move fast, also it’s been working for years. It would be more coincidental that NOW it isn’t working now that its competition has a seat of power in the White House. You’d have to not be smart to not see what is the clearest thing ever here. It would be like the T-Mobile CEO being Trump’s right hand man in his Cabinet. Then, all of a sudden feeling like T-Mobile should be able to get Verizon towers because they’ve not been using them efficiently. Somethings are easy enough to know, this would be one of them. Starlink by data isn’t doing anything significant in this realm that would call for a takeover and an ending to a contract deal such as this one that takes time to complete. If the contract goes to Starlink, I sincerely hope Verizon sues. Verizon employees deserve the Verizon lawyers to do something that actually benefits the workers.

Verizon has laid off the people that could have assisted in getting this to work. Contractors continuously need questions answered about the network and of course at little more oversight helps...

This is colossal failure of the Board of Director’s fiduciary responsibility IMHO. Hans should be fired and his package must be clawed back. He fired all his CFO, CSO, CMO, CAO, CHRO (quit actually), etc.

Guess who is left behind that should have been fired. Swedish Queen!

No surprise here. VZ get those contracts to impress the market and looks good. Still no good direction for the company. They need a big overhaul of executives starting from Hans.

Duffy is right. They don’t move fast because they outsource all decision making to PWC, Accenture, etc to insulate themselves from true ownership and accountability. Then when inevitable failure takes place, “long planned retirements” occur as they reorganize yet again. The armies of “managers” never are respected enough to be told the truth about what is success or failure. Just reorg again and get excited!

Elon is a grifter who will try to use his position with the grifter in chief to grift as much as he can. All the other bootlickers will fall in line.
