Thinking about accepting an offer within the wells team. What are some pros and cons? Always hear so many different things but can someone enlighten me please?

Read the previous posts please. They're telling you the truth. If you're being hired for a position in India then take the position, learn and build your resume for two or three years and move onto a real job maybe with Chevron, Shell or an Indian company. ExxonMobil's employees in India are just being exploited because they're cheap. Period. They have no chance at a career advancement of any kind. If you are being hired in the US, Canada, Europe or Singapore just look elsewhere. There's nothing left here. You'll be used to fill the PIP pool. That means you won't be ranked the first year, you'll be ranked at 50% the second year and you'll be ranked at 100% the third year when they'll tell you that you Need Significant Improvement (NSI) no matter what you do or how hard you work. Once you're NSIed your career is over. Exxon does this to protect a certain group of people preselected (based on unknown criteria but most likely gender, race, and stuff like that) to be leaders in the company. There's nothing you can do about this. You'll be used to protect these High Potential employees, HiPos. Unless you're unemployed and need money desperately just keep looking.

All that matters is you are a white man and you have the right school ring. Otherwise move along- you will go no where in Wells.

If you are based in India, go for it as a stepping stone.

If you are based in the West, move along please, nothing to see here.
