Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

If Walgreen's was so attractive and worth buying ..............

Amazon would had paid $10 billion or more for the company. That amount is nothing to them. Instead the only ones that wanted walgreen's was a vulture company. Enough said.

Walgreens has been a pretty crummy place to work for some time now. Some would say "toxic". IF you get to keep your job under Sycamore, I would not expect things to get much worse than they are now. How much more can you over-extend your staff? And yes, it does seem employees are generally oblivious to the impact the Sycamore buyout will have on them. Not everyone will be staying.

This is truly the most toxic company I have ever worked at. I cannot wait until I am able to find a new job and put my 2 weeks in.
I feel like there are so many people at the support center who aren't afraid of Sycamore buying us. Like... WAKE UP, PEOPLE.

We should believe everything that Tim Wentworth says... keep drinking the kool-aid.... 😆 Sycamore is the angel Walgreens has been waiting forever.

But Tim Wentworth assured us that Sycamore is not like other private equity firms. They're really going to try and turn Walgreens around instead of gutting the company to pay off the massive debt generated by the buyout and pay themselves handsomely for their trouble. I can't understand why anyone would think otherwise.

Agreed. My guess is Sycamore will come in, cut costs (e.g, layoffs), strip Walgreens assets, and let the company slowly die by itself. Typical private equity playbook
