Many in upper management have made themselves irrelevant. They do nothing but sit on call and send emails. My guess is most of them are truly terrified of exactly how irrelevant they have become and just hoping it isn’t discovered. Only a few in upper mgt possess a basic understanding of our business. They don’t lead, develop, or do much of anything positive.

there are some good managers that work with their groups and then you have the knuckle draggers. knuckle draggers should have been let go a long time ago.
Many were irrelevant before they got here. They protect friends and family.
They don’t have to know how to do anything except make people believe your org is doing great things.
