Corporate politics, not customer service, is the primary driver of how the company operates. I know it is like this to an extent at all companies, but it is especially bad here. There are so many random facets of my role that do not make any sense at all on the outside, but have been justified due to management politics. This is the biggest problem facing WF imo

These leaders only look out for themselves on the backs of the working class. They should feel what's it like to lose and not get a big payout for their incompetence

Spot on! There are some good leaders that do not get caught up in the political drama and the ln you have the absolute worst leaders aka Fake Phony Worthless Legacy Leaders that Bridget needs to lower the clamps on!! They aren’t worth a damn nickel and they they are gods gift! Corrupt losers!
It's a valid concern that internal politics can overshadow core principles like customer service. Ideally, a 'good bank' should prioritize:
Customer-Driven Focus: True success comes from meeting customer needs, not internal power struggles.
Responsible Banking: Ethical practices and sound risk management should guide decisions, not just political expediency.
Product and Service Excellence: Innovation and efficiency should be driven by customer value, not internal maneuvering.
While internal politics exist in many large organizations, a healthy bank balances internal needs with external customer and ethical demands. When politics visibly dominate, it indicates a departure from these core principles, which can harm long term stability and customer trust.
OP should consider writing up a strategy that basically is a DOGE for WF, aiming to be Chief of Efficiency or Chief of Excellence (or some cooler title).
How do you suggest the company be run, then?
