We have to work the full normal shift on 5/1. Then access to everything is cut off, home internet ends at midnight. We can't sign our papers before 5/1 but can submitt them that day. Boxes will be seto us and we have 10 days to return all equipment. I don't know why we have to wait so long to get our separation money. But they said if we sign and submitt the papers 5/1 - 5/3 we should get paid June 6th. If you wait longer to sign you wait longer to get paid.

One good reason to leave your 401(k) where it is, if someone turns 55 or older in the year of separation and not 59 1/2 yet, they may be able to withdraw funds from their 401(k) penalty free under the "Rule of 55", but it cannot be a rollover, it has to stay in the 401(k) from where you left employment (voluntarily or not, doesn't matter). Check with Fidelity or the Plan Description if allowed under this plan.

United has zero control once your 401k money is at Fidelity. Just enable brokerage link to jailbreak from the funds they offer and find an index fund. been routing my money to other funds for years

We do not get our pay out until around June 6th. You do not sign your papers until at least May 1st, not before.

I would think you would log in that day 05/01/25. You can also email HR about the process but typically they will send a box and mailing labels from UPS within a week of your official last day. Also you can speak with your Fidelity agent in regards to your 401k funds on what your decision would be for that. I would rollover it to my own personal rollover account with fidelity I wouldn’t leave it at United Healthcare under no circumstance
