Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

SE CWA layoffs

I am genuinely very sorry. You all tried to fight the good fight. You even lost pay for a month to strike. Some of you may have even been ready to retire, but there are entire departments being cut. I am sure there is a lot of experience going to be sent out the door to goodness knows where. That is disappointing.

Union layoffs are needed to rightsize the business. Too many hole standers and not enough doers.

With the exit of copper, the new right size is 50K FTE's.

Thats just the way it goes. Wait until they get to management cuts. The CWA surplus will seem small in comparison to the blood bath that is coming after the RTO quitting push.

It's personnel, not personal. Learn the difference!

it's a shame. tech support is also loosing it's jobs to lesser paid and off the street personal in India. they spend months training them only for them to leave after getting trained for higher paying jobs with other companies. tariffs will not affect these higher paid tech jobs companies giving those companies a cooperate tax cut will only fatten the cat.
