I know I should feel relieved since I still have a job, but that doesn’t seem like a positive anymore. My workload has grown heavier after every round of layoffs, and I have no doubt it will happen again now that we’ve lost more people. I’m already drowning in work, barely holding on. I can’t take on more. I just can’t. Some part of me almost wishes I had been laid off.

A lot of disgruntled ex-employees this year and it's only Q1
Tom Doran and friends need to be able to afford their yachts. Meanwhile it was HIS department {the actuaries} that got the numbers wrong and put us in the red. Why weren't they all laid off? Including Snoopy Award NASA man himself. Start fresh with kids straight out of college who know how to punch numbers.
You are not alone. This is what corporate America looks like in 2025. There have been many more layoffs than are reported in the news, most companies are doing much worse than the public are aware of, and those still employed are getting absolutely dumped on as to "do more with less." I don't know if we're in a recession or about to be in a recession or if the government is trying as hard as it can to hide the real state of things but I do know it's bad out there.
