Executive who left that could have been CEO

We have had some awesome people leave; who could have been on the list ready for the CEO? K Norman (current Lyten CEO) comes to mind. Anyone else?

Mike Henderson. He was a Mobil guy in Aberdeen who resigned and became 2nd in charge behind Lee Tillman at Marathon. Very driven, very intelligent

Tillman actually accepted the CEO position at Marathon and Marathon made public announcement prior to his resignation from EM.
As soon as EM Exec read the Marathon announcement, EM Security officers were sent to Tillman’s office and requested he leave immediately without taking anything with him.

Not sure if that counted as firing or resignation.
