Vent about all the je-king around from redeployment

IKYKY

This has been an absolutely brutal week(actually a brutal 2 months) . Being forced to do the admin roles because they all got redeployed already.

Dangling the carrot in front of us that 30-40% of us would have a job. Apply by tomorrow. Then the jobs aren’t posted yet.

Email going out this evening saying there has been a change in job availability change but they would keep us posted.

The cruelty of all of this feels utterly devastating. Getting our hopes up. Then feeling crushed realizing this probably isn’t going to happen before our last day.

I have no point to this but I’m feeling gutted at this point. It would have been easier not to have hope this entire time. Looking forward to an actual end date at this point because this has been awful.

I’m personally just coming to grips tonight with the fact that this company has thrown me away and has no intention of keeping most of us.

Maybe it was all just a lie to incentivize us to keep working until the end.

It seems like we might be the last ones to get the update. I'm convinced that the news will reach all of us shortly. We need to stay optimistic and be prepared for whatever comes next. They always tell us to keep our heads up and continue applying for opportunities, but it often feels like nothing changes or happens. Patience can be tough in times like these, but we must remain resilient and keep pushing forward.

Have you checked to see if your current job is hiring? If so, it's helpful to look up the specific location and any available positions. Then bummed none of them near you. What happens after 5/1/25

I think it’s pretty clear at this point UHC is a chop shop. They buy up companies (Navihealth, Landmark, UMR) and then gut them. It’s just straight corporate greed.

UMR is the department.
They were purchased by UHC when they were a stand alone TPA, and became the in-house TPA for UHC/Optum.

If UMR is overseas what is the point in applying? They are not going to hire anyone in USA when India will do it cra%&y for much less.

UMR has been in talks with Wipro to take on processes since late last year, starting around October. I was previously a leader in that org and heard the conversations first hand and advocated against their 2025 start. My advocacy for my teams is what lead to my departure. While you have a job - please look. I implore and encourage you to seek new ventures while you still have a paycheck. To my UMR folks, I'm rooting for you! 🙏🏼🫂

Business IS being sent overseas for UMR accounts. We get leftovers

Has anyone heard about possible layoffs within UMR? I feel like this segment of the company has been buffered but, feel no one is safe at this point.

I have repeatedly heard the number 30,000 to be let go. Anyone that thinks they are untouchable is not in touch with reality. Every Thursday emails are being sent out to employees for a call with their supervisor that afternoon. That call is when they are given the news.

Has there been a recent layoff for you all to be seeking redeployment now?

What tone deaf response. Everybody is applying to as many internal and external roles as possible. People need to pay their bills.

I’m sure it feels hopeless and at this point your beyond exhausted emotionally but don’t give up! I have had good luck with redeployment but it took a lot of resilience and defeat before landing my new role very close to the end. My peers have had luck too it is just a hard process especially when you’re faced with the unknown. What I would say is, I have friends that have worked other insurance companies and were given the boot without any resources or help. It’s so hard and I’m sorry you’re going through this, don’t give up on redeployment but keep your options open externally too just in case. And network internally with everyone and anyone who will listen, it helps!
