Genuinely curious how many people think those who are running Exxon are doing a good job.

Leadership has created an asset management company with no plan for growth or industry leadership. Not good for the long term. Hopefully, EM will get broken up and sold off for excellent shareholder appreciation

I think so. Stock is at an all time high. It’s only gone up under DW (except during Covid when every company in the world took a hit). Cash flow and profits are also at record levels.
XOM is an asset management company now, not technology and engineering. With the assets they do have, operations personnel, processes and procedures, they are well suited to continue being a top company. They are not doing anything uniquely different than the other majors except have better portfolio and discipline to invest in oil.

You guys have no idea what you’re in for. The India hub redoes all work 2-3 times but is still chosen for all work. They cost 1/10th what you do thanks to salary and benefits. Apparently time doesn’t count as money anymore so forget it. If you stay you can look forward to them being promoted over you without knowing a thing. Or maybe you’ll get to wake up at 6am to babysit 4-5 of them. If you’re in HR LT you will soon have much fun with colorism and the caste system. Oh the delights.
Quit the industry now, let them “have” it. Or write Trump and your congressmen. The ball is in your court, you were warned. We joke that the “AI” that is gonna solve all of our problems cheaply is “Another Indian”. Once your LT gets a taste it will be their only trick.

The damage caused by offshoring won’t be fully felt for a few years yet, and by then it will be too late to recover.
No faith. What is our plan beyond Guyana and Permian? Moving all jobs to India is a terrible idea. If you have worked there you will understand the cultural differences and why this is a problem.

The incentives scheme for all of them are heavily weighted in favor of the shareholders, which drives short term focus and gain at the expense of the employee.
All employees therefore shouldn't have any faith in the leadershit whatsoever.
