The jobs aren't only going to overseas people, most jobs withing this country (Dearborn in particular) are given to non-Americans. Take a look at Ford Credit. Over 90% at Credit are Indians that continue to hire more and more Indians inside the country and outside. How many years of DEI BS have we been subjected to pushing the "too many white men" message? And yes, it's still going. As a result, the quality decline of the GSR & LL over the past 20 years is painfully obvious. And it's no coincidence the quality of the final product has also taken a dive.
@ag+1 Its too late for that.... Its not a matter of just hiring another engineer or IT person and then everything is okey-dokey again. Experience in the area of your expertise is a HUGE part of the job and all that has walked out the door in the last 5-10 years. Engineers need to know what has worked/not worked in the past. IT people need to know the same and all the business rules behind the code. That knowledge is now working somewhere else or sitting on a beach sipping mai-tais.
Hopefully with the manufacturing coming back to US, moving Engineering back in the US makes more sense as well.
