Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Is Anything Good Going on in Aero in Olathe these days?

I have wondered if Olathe has recovered any from the total annihilation of engineering staff and professional production staff a few years ago? Last time I worked there it was somewhat functional but still creepy and going down the tubes. But that was many years ago, now.

I heard that due to the Aero spin-off, the Olathe facility is now called something like "America Avionics"? That would be quite ironic, since that facility was a "training model" of how to off-shore avionics manufacturing for years, after being somewhere at the top of Honeywell manufacturing quality for a number of years. it was used it as a training school for foreigners to learn how to do things.

Even more ironic, I heard that in recent years much of the off-shored production had to be brought back, because many of those initiatives failed over their course of time, due to quality and other issues.

But can it be by some stroke of luck, that they are in a position to take advantage of the recent tariffs to be a "model of bringing back manufacturing to 'Merica"? That is the biggest irony of all, considering the complete incompetence and looting that occurred during the off-shoring years.
