IBM gives people they lay off in the US access to the Randstad RiseSmart outplacement services in the layoff package. Is / Was it any good in landing you a new job ?
Can Nickel get anything right, even in layoffs ??

Outplacement services like SinkStupid are almost always garbage and probably exist for the sole purpose of people like Nickel getting kick-backs or fulfilling some kind of legal requirement. They hire someone off of Fiverr with zero experience in your field to tell you how to format a resume in Microsoft Word and to join LinkedIn and network.
Whatever is the worst, cheapest, laziest option, will be IBM's option. You only need look at the erosion of IBM's so-called benefits under Alvind — 401k, Healthcare, HR — to know what kind of rotten, maggot-infested scraps they're going to throw at the people they've tossed overboard. They don't care that you will drown before you can eat them; it's just something for them to check off on their to-do list before they make a reservation to dine in expensive restaurants, and send their kids off to expensive private schools, and sleep like babies. Cheap and fraudulent is all IBM has become under Alvind, like a wooden Nickel. Sociopaths and criminals, is more like it.
I've known 7 people who were laid off including myself. I was at the end of 2024 and no, not a single one of us found it useful. My new position was from networking with Executivesn
