It took me over a year—an endless stream of resumes, reaching out to everyone I know, utilizing every network possible. There were many moments when I almost lost my mind and considered giving up. The new position is in a tangential industry—less pay, but more convenient and far less stressful. There's a good chance I might actually get some of my life back. If you're looking for a change, just stay persistent. It's a tough job market, but there are still options out there.
