The OP is not miserable at her job but just ready to leave if she gets surplussed, thus will get the nice package negotiated by our union. Not expecting surplus to happen anytime soon just saying ready to go if/when it happens.
Can't leave, money is way too good. Where else can anyone make this kind of money as a high school grad? Nowhere that I know of.
Love my union job. Do not want to leave. It will take a surplus to get me out the door, but that's ok too. At 70 weeks pay now and adding 4 weeks a year on my way to 90 weeks. If you are miserable just quit and move on. Not worth it to stay unhappy. YOLO.
