GM announcements this week. Any guesses to who is left standing....

I understand that GM announcements (L3's) will be made this week. I heard there are fewer positions. Any guesses on who is left standing?

Definitely a head scratcher on SH. Thought he was one of the good one’s.

Some of these decisions don’t make any sense. Wonder about their expertise in the areas they are leading. You can tell who had connections

JC needs to go yesterday. Process tech manager is such a trashcan. Worthless POS.

DM has always had a job because of wife KM. He would have no real value in not married to KM.

If it is indeed true SH is out, I’m really curious to see who’s kept. It will speak volumes about the direction the company wants to go. Does not seem good.

What I’ve heard so far doesn’t give me confidence in the selection process. Get rid of the good ones and keep the bad is the Chevron way, it seems.

Which organizations need the most shakeup? DMC needs significant work, so hopefully we see some change in the 28-30 there. Exploration has been a mess for years, but that’s a closed shop, so I wouldn’t expect any new blood. S&T will likely have changes with three BUs to 1. Which leaders will be left standing?

It all sounds grand to make statements like all 26s and 27s should go but let's not delude ourselves into thinking that is really going to happen. These people are connected. They got those jobs because someone ahead of them mentored and advocated on their behalf. Their pals are not in the 28+ category. A great landing spot temporarily for them will be in the Implementation Teams that are supposed to drive the org changes. There are other hiding places in the organization that allow them to be on the payroll until the dust settles. After that, they can slide into a new permanent slot which opens up because the new org will be Swiss cheese. The ELT will find that things are falling through the cracks and need attention. I saw this happen the last go round and the one before that and the one before that. Of course, some will be let go but don't be surprised. It su-ks. Good luck to all.

I wouldn't expect management to change much in this event. These layoffs are about axing individual contributors and replacing some with Indians. The only managers at risk are first-line supervisors who won't have anyone to supervise

all 27s should go

For pay grade 28 and above, there are very few headcount reductions following retirements. In fact, quite a few have even been promoted. The real bloodbath is happening at pay grade 27 and below
