Seriously, Do reorgs really matter or does anyone really care about a re-org at this point?

We just got moved this week. They are constantly happening and it is all a big secret so they can then have an "urgent" meeting to announce it and talk for 45 minutes about why. Only for it all to happen again in 8 months.

“Are they going to finally drop the "G" from MGO? “
We are keeping the “G” but adding a couple “A”’s.

"Supposedly Marketing in MGO is finally getting their re-org today."

Are they going to finally drop the "G" from MGO? All they do is sp-t out TV ads and sponsor the next stupid golf tournament that nobody watches. There's no growth coming from that org.

Supposedly Marketing in MGO is finally getting their re-org today. Who knows if that will come with surpluses, but they have more than enough people on that team so…

“The reorg, where you suddenly have a new Boss that doesn't know you, is the last stop for many.”

We call it the “consolidation” reorg. You are moved to the winning team or lumped together with others that are targeted for release soon. This includes you as well as the boss that doesn’t know you. Someone has to manage the pending layoff pool.

Reorgs are overdue as many remaining employees start being assigned additional responsibilities to occupy the extra 20 hours each week that were previously idle.

The reorg, where you suddenly have a new Boss that doesn't know you, is the last stop for many.

For no reason other than human nature; it's easier for them to offer up someone that they have no history with.

Have seen it play out a hundred times over the years.

As headcount continues to decline, reorganization is the logical next step.

You might continue to have job here, just not the same job.
