Why were some Malaysians protected from the sale by being out on the expat circuit? Shouldn’t they have been recalled back to Malaysia and sold with the asset? What connections do these people have? The most egregious cases are very junior engineers with little time at the company who were brought in by more senior Malaysian expat sponsors before they went on to their next expat role for example in Midland.are the protected expats now destined to have a decades long career as expats? Sounds pretty plush.

Is the difference that they are cheaper?
Same case for UK layoff exemptions. How were these people excluded from the redundancy programme? Why are there differences? Why is Exxon so great at discrimination?

You cannot be aam expat if you have no home country job to return to. If they are not returned and let go, they will be localized to US
