The average guy will take it on the chin when buying spare parts for his car.
All happening while we reduce capital gain taxes for a certain group.
We need to GENERATE tax REVENUE from that OFFSHORE labor pipeline not from the spare parts we buy regularly !
What DJT has left out in his repeated criticisms is the trade surplus the US benefits from when it comes the service industry. That includes a wide range of financial services, as well as media, entertainment, and intellectual property, among others. Services make up about 70 percent of the US economy. Americans export these services. Foreign countries can deny operating permits for US business firms and can tax digital services. If this happens, the US is sc--wed.
The reason for tariffs is to generate income for tax cuts for the ultra-rich. Tariffs are a tax on the average American. DJT doesn't care about anything but himself and his rich buddies. The president's response to tanking the economy, brought on by his sweeping tariff announcement, is to fly to Florida and watch golf.
Corporations should be held liable for outsourcing jobs. Imported work is, well, an import that should be tariffed.
