was let go a few months ago and had no intention of ever coming back. But a former colleague of mine who is now leading a large team reached out to recommend I apply for a role on his team. One level down from my last role at Wells. I have decided to do the screen but still not sure about the interview. I have another job lined up, although it’s a much lower salary but it is remote, which is a plus. Has anyone come back and if so, how do they determine salary, total compensation (I was getting a nice year-end bonus and RSRs). I believe if you return within six months, everything kind of falls back into place. Thanks for any info!

If you are on severance, offered a job with WF, turn it down, you void your severance. So unless you are 100% sure about coming back don’t waste your time.
You'd be smart to consider going back to Wells in this market; with the new company you'd be first on the chopping block should there be layoffs.

What a golden opportunity to make shart pay for two severances. Do it OP.
I came back during my severance period at the same level and got a small raise. If you’re concerned about pay rate, have a blunt conversation with the recruiter about where they are funding the role. Then you can decide whether to move forward. If you wait until you get an offer and it’s lpw, you’ll lose remaining severance if you turn it down, so you must do your research now. All my seniority stayed.
