Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

How far can an Excellent or Very Good drop?

Is it an average of this cycle and last? Or is it a clean slate every year? Sorry, this is only my second time through the process and I think year 1 was more of a free year.

Excellent to NSI then back to excellent.

I know another who went from excellent to NSI to outstanding.

The system is complete BS. Especially for those in high CL groups that have naturally been thinned out.

As far down as your knees can bend

I have seen an excellent get knocked down to NSI because he was so ethical that he refused to bury issues that the VP wanted to hide.

We lost an excellent worker.

You can drop to NSI at any time unless you have a sponsor. I’ve seen it happen many times. Once you hit 40 you are a dead man walking. Age discrimination is real.

On the flip side, I've known two engineers who went from NSI to Excellent in the following year.

From the age of 52 to 55, you will drop from OWD/Excellent to NI and eventually NSI when you turn 55 (unless you are a sponsored HiPo).

I was given a horrible assignment this year along with no ability to work on more strategic items. My PDS is probably 10% what I’ve done in years past. I don’t know how I stay near the top. I fully expect a drop to the bottom if the process actually only looks at the cycle period

From personal experience: went from excellent to very good to NI.

It's naive to think your previous few years performance doesn't influence your assessment. You can see the previous three years' ranking right in cc.

PA memory is technically one year. Good or bad, the prior year is erroneous. Since changes a few years ago, no bounds to one year upward or downward vector.
