Barfield office in Atlanta is closing by Aug 2025. Everybody has to move to the last office standing in Atlanta, Brookhaven, which is only 2 floors already occupied by Digital Sales. There is not going to be any space for everyone.
Atlanta used to have so many big offices, 10-15 of them. Only one left after August!
What about the Atlanta office?
We at IBM should have stood up to Lou Gerstner when he came in 4-1-93 and literally ki-led IBM. Laid off 200,000 people over 18 months and cut our pensions promised by over 50% and even took pensions away from people if you did not have 10 yrs of service and be age 40 by June 1999. First time I recall IBMers crying. Had we gone out for a week or a month or whatever it took to not be pushed around things would be different.

Looks like at the very least Dallas-based Digital Sales missions will be relocating to Austin in 2026.
I am confused
It’s Time We Advocate for Ourselves – Let’s Talk Unionizing
Team,
As non-exempt employees on the Digital Sales Team, we've consistently shown up, driven results, and supported IBM's evolving goals — often adapting quickly without hesitation. But as we’ve seen with recent shifts in company direction, it’s become increasingly clear that our voices are not being considered in decisions that directly impact our livelihoods, workloads, and well-being.
We deserve to have a seat at the table. We deserve transparency. We deserve protections.
Unionizing is not about going against the company — it’s about ensuring that we, the people who keep this engine running, have a say in how we are treated, compensated, and supported. With a union, we gain the power to collectively bargain for what we’ve earned: fair pay, job security, career growth opportunities, and a more sustainable work environment.
This is a pivotal moment. Other sectors within tech and sales are beginning to organize, and it’s time we seriously consider doing the same. Let’s come together, have the conversation, and start taking steps to protect our futures.
If you’re interested in learning more or getting involved, reply directly to this message or connect. Let’s make our voices heard.
His second term is just chaos.
It is not just chaos. It is chaos and a whole lot more.
Trump administration clamping down on offshoring
He gave tax breaks for offshoring in his first term.

His second term is just chaos.
Which offices are closing? It’s almost as if they aren’t worried about the Trump administration clamping down on offshoring.
