Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

CBB

On today’s earnings call, Gunjan spoke of streamlining management. Slide 9 on the PowerPoint shows Consumer and Business Banking (CBB) having two leaders, one for CBB Products and one leader for Branch and Small Business Banking (BSBB). Having said that, who will lead BSBB, Dee or Sekou? Heads are rolling…

Business banking is a sinking ship at US Bank. Very poor management and no sense of direction. Underwriters are considered as the almighty! Their good bankers are leaving and being replaced with uneducated and ignorant robots.

Its time for leaders in CBB and CBB Risk to go! The ship is sinking and there are not enough lifeboats.

When you outsource every role to India or Eastern Europe, be prepared for failures, all in the name of “expense management.” How many leaders at USB and in BB have ties to India? Removing American jobs for cheap labor in other countries is how they’re dealing with this issue. May as well call this Bank of Bangalore.

"Restore investor confidence" with your talent and soon your best customers leaving the bank for other institutions with better and more reliable banking products?

There is more to an institutional investor's decision that quarterly numbers made all the more pretty, not by revenue growth and a demand for the bank's services, but rather by termination of longstanding banking talent and movement of critical and core functions to "lower cost environments".

Considering it took over 2 YEARS to launch a new BB checking account, with hundreds of people involved, something has to change. Huge waste of resources. Every time a new leader came on board, scope and direction changed, with massive communication breakdowns, all the while CPO patting herself on the back for a job well done. CBB Product team needs to be transformed, starting with CPO and her directs.

For years now, revenue production has taken a back seat to internal turf wars. Time and again, MPS has taken unnecessary hits from Treasury Management leadership under the misguided belief that their solutions are somehow more profitable. The root of the problem lies with the Business Banking Executives ... they’ve allowed this dysfunction to fester, and it’s long past time they’re held to the same standards they’ve been imposing on others.

The CBB counterparts on the Elavon/MPS/payments side have been solid miss all the way around, more concerned with everything else but the job description and generating revenue and new business relationships

I agree, neither one has delivered on any goals they have set in the past 2 years.

Retire them both and bring in someone with a vision, which is apparently lacking.
