Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lamenting not taking the package

High performer. The package would have given me a year, and three years medical, but I stayed out of loyalty. With RTO, I feel like I was goofed.

Now I am going to get fired for noncompliance to the new RTO policy. Its been a good run. I guess Intel doesn't need AI talent.

If the OP really was a high performer, they would have not been able to take the package last round. EE, O and promos weren't eligible.

High performer….. yea right!! It’s funny how many people have such a high opinion of themselves and they will quickly tell you that.

I don't believe OP ever worked at Intel.

'3 years medical'?

High performer at Intel is mediocre in other companies.

Any real “high performer “ left a long time ago for better pay, culture, upward mobility and so on.

He could have used that time off to get a new job before the upcoming purge floods the market with tons of people looking for work in the same fields. Also the market and tariff situation greatly changed the market over the last 6 months. Definitely would’ve been better to get ahead of it vs. just comparing theoretical incomes 1:1 of severance and staying

Oh well, ya should’ve taken the package

If op really worked at the company and took the package last year, the package is about 1 year pay. If OP gets layoff in a few months with less or no package, his salary income makes up the amount of the last year’s package?

There was no package that gave 3 yrs of medical. I took a package in Sept 2025. Max was 18 months of Cobra for those of us who took ERP.

RTO is get your a-s back to the office and collaborate/innovate with your co-workers in a room without distraction from your kids, wife or dog. IBM now has RTC return to the customer. Some must now relocate to the city where there customer is located for their specific account.

Now, your package will be half or less than it was originally. You should have went to the exit door. Dude the days of being loyal to a company are over. You are just a number. You are a target now if you have a high salary given the reset in salaries that is occurring in the industry vs. Asia
