FIBER LAYOFFS

Does anyone who works in fiber know about any layoffs yet? Is it happening yet? Did anyone get letters to stay?

Fiber is actually hiring in the field. Not sure what will happen to salary employees.

These people that attack any person who disagrees w them as having " bad lives" are about as nonsensical and childish as they could possibly be. The fact is there will be layoffs. Fiber people will be laid off after transition due to symmetries within their new organization, those not being transitioned will be laid off as Crown will no longer need fiber employees, and shared services will have layoffs because Crown is now a straight rental company. There's no need for 2500 hundred people when the same base ran on 2000 10 years ago. It can probably run on 1500. Period. It has nothing to do w the quality of anyone's lives. Its business. Grow up. Just because you don't want to hear the facts doesn't make them untrue.

Those confident people just like to be miserable and want to be fired so they cannot work or blame their bad life on crown. They will continue to say there are layoffs even at their new company. There won’t be layoffs. 1. Crown is required to maintain a business and that includes head count. 2. They are required to send x number of people to each company. 3. They are literally offering a bonus not to leave 4. Why would crown take on the expense of layoffs when it has no fiscal benefit to them. Let’s lay off 10% and pay millions in severance to people that won’t be on our payroll in 8 months.

People finally have some job security and they can’t accept it. They want to complain and spread rumors.

Those confident there will be layoffs before the sale is closed are basing this on what?

We are currently in the “transition period”

There will certainly be layoffs between now and 2026.

Anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

They are contractual obligated to keep the same headcount in network who will go over to the new companies. They are offering retention bonuses. So you can actually relax and know you have a job till q1 of 2026. Could even use it for leverage and ask for a raise.
