Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Pay Ranges / Job Grades - Houston

Howdy,

I'm considering joining Exxon as a Project Engineer in Houston. Coming from another major with 10 years experience. I have looked around at Glassdoor for salaries, bonuses, benefits and the results do not seem believable and Glassdoor does not align with my current role at said Major. So...looking for some insight.

What salary range would a Project Engineer expect to get in Houston - Say Upstream if its a difference?
Do yall get annual bonuses?
Do yall get other unique benefits outside pension and 401k match?
What are yall paying in health care? I'm paying $85/month for a low deductible plan but its Kelsey Seybold. Do yall have something like that?

Anything else yall want to say other than "run!"? BC I accept the risk.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the insight

As indicated, EM will not be recruiting employees for the US, only in India where all the work is being offshored to.

Experienced hires aren’t considered part of the hipo pool so understand your future opportunities are limited. Anything you did prior to Exxon isn’t considered.

Likely you are being interviewed so they can say they looked for a qualified US citizen and couldn’t find one. Then they will hire an Indian.

401k match you only get after 3 years, if they fire you or you leave or you are PIP’ed or you jump off the cube, you lose the money.

Wait?! Didn’t they “layoff” most of global projects? Across most functions, experienced hires were the first to PIP off.

No bonuses except stock rsu. Healthcare is over 100 per month and is bluecross. Pay is on par with others majors. 401k match is 6 or 7 %. The Healthcare has minimum deductible s and lots if co pays. Overall the benefits have gone down the past few years. So you have been warned. The worst is the politics and ranking. The corporate culture is cutthroat. See the post about brutal truths dummy before you make the switch. It is horrible unless you know someone or have a sponsor. Comming in not knowing anyone or having someone promote you is like a death sentence. Remember we told you. I wish I knew before I got stuck here.

Experienced hires tend to rise high very quickly in this company. The smugger the better.
And the aggier the better, goes without saying.
