Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Just go

Pack up and move on because staying just isn’t worth the stress. I left a few months ago and I'm finally starting to feel better about myself (thanks Aldi for the lifeline). I didn’t even realize how wound-up and drained I was until I got out. Life gets noticeably better the moment you walk away, trust me.

After I quit, multiple people told me how good I was looking (people who didn't actually know my employment situation).

Also leaving macy was the best being employed w/Macy's close to 10 yrs never been happier inner a long time
Less&less assoc but more &more expected of all assoc. Ie not just dusting fixtures wiping down each fixtures / all new receipts on floor before punching out 6&half work day all go. Put out etc. Went home so tired
I resigned as did so many others promptly went to dept of labor filed a claim for so many reasons. It took awhile 4 Macy's legal dept to reply & not have to pay. Although the dept oof labor awarded me $15,000 also due to the fact that macy store h/r. Would ask to speak to me after punching out or helping a customer & being 7 min.late punching out Macy need make clear directions. I'm happy no more stress. & taking a vacation on them. Be happy leave

They’re demoting us in the logistics warehouse and trying to make us feel like they’re doing something great saying we’ll have less responsibilities smh they don’t care about the employees and I was only offered 26 weeks when I’ve been there for 37 years and only a few months of medical!!!! A “warehouse lead” and I have to reapply for a position I already have and there’s limited positions in which they opened it up for the whole warehouse to apply.

Left after 19 years and I’ve never been happier. Make more money now, no more long work days, no more taking work home and crazy pony show visits. Most import JOB SECURITY! I will always be grateful for Macys but the grass is definitely greener. Don’t be afraid to make the jump!

Leaving Macy’s was the best decision I’ve ever made. The corporate atmosphere there is a toxic joke and I’ve never been happier. I was there for 22 years and reported to a talentless hack. Change is always scary but worth it!
I got a lifetime discount and have never walked into that overpriced dump since except if I needed to use a restroom while in the area.

Grass is always greener at first my friend

Everyone says that about every place they ever leave, until it’s not true anymore.

Isn’t it the best feeling??? I applaud you! I left 12/30. I was torn between leaving the company I loved and was loyal to for 14 years or staying to ride out the last year to receive a lifetime discount and severance/unemployment when the store closes. I chose my peace of mind and better health and WOW does it feel great! I no longer live day to day with the stress of nothing being good enough. I worked my tail off and was good at what I did but never went home with satisfaction of a job well done because my store manager didn’t know how to appreciate and encourage people.
I’m no longer drained, stressed, have bags under my eyes and high blood pressure. Annnd my family lives that I am no longer spending time at home on business acumen, schedule edits, colleague reviews, my own review, WLP etc. I feel like a new person! 🙌🏽
