“Make OT great again (MOGA)?” Yeah, nothing screams greatness like surprise layoffs every other quarter. Really visionary stuff—if the vision is a revolving door.
To my fellow ex-OpenTexters—you weren’t the problem. You just got caught in the ‘strategy.’ You deserved so much better than this corporate clown show.

Agreed Mark should send surveys to employees to rate and give feedback on the internal OT tools. And deploy and get feedback on AI toolsIT wants to promote as the future. What better feedback than from employees who can they have a dialogue with the product team. And maybe provide rewards for feedback (like WorkHuman does for HR). Make the employees proud of the product and free spokespersons.
What does OTX actually do?
Every internal product I've used was horrible, why would someone knowingly need and pay for it?
Why can't the employees provide feedback on how cr-ppy Ollie is?
Would the world be better off with or without OpenText? If it were to close shop tomorrow, what companies would be affected? Who is looking to OT to solve their tech problems? Those questions need to be honestly answered. I think the world is a better place with OpenText seeing all it did with “text” technology and continuing the Business Network platform, but if they keep talking about AI that not what made OT great in the past and in my opinion that’s not their future. Good back to your roots and embrace that. AI is for the tech giants, let them duke it out. OT. needs to expand what they know not hope to be able to succeed with AI with no investment or innovation.
Was OTEX ever great?
Stop spending money on marketing and invest in making the products better, the internal tools better (OT trusts OT) and invest in people. Finally, have a long term goal/vision. What is the next chapter in the OpenText story? Is it an action novel, comedy or tragedy with the final chapter being # 11. Mark tried to answer this in the book he released this month https://blogs.opentext.com/business-at-the-speed-of-ai/ but this is more fiction than facts…. We’ll see how the street/investors react on April 30. Lot of good people at OT and Mark is a smart CEO, but this is truly GO time or fail.
