„Placed a 10-year, non-negotiable, 300% tariff on incoming offshore professional services and watch ALL of those job posting in India VANISH overnight and show up in the XOM Houston Job Board“

I bet Shell and Total would love it, if the Orange Man destroys XOM and CVX. First tanking the US economy and making US uncompetitive, what a great idea. The US iS so f***ed….

I'm puzzled as to why tariffs have not been implemented on offshore labor, particularly given that China imposes tariffs on professional services provided by us.

Plenty of revenue to be generated from that pipeline.

The timing of the hiring slowdown in the U.S. is somewhat ironic because Trump’s trade war is meant to restore jobs and manufacturing. The president’s friends in the oil patch had expected his rollback of regulations to spur job growth in the sector.

“Typically, that would have been a bo-m for the U.S.,” said Debbie Milks, chief operating officer of recruiting firm Brookwoods Group. “We’re not seeing that at all.”

*** Who are his friends in the oil patch?! From everything I've seen, the "powers that be" are anything BUT loyal patriots to the U.S. work force. They want as many jobs as possible overseas, because it means more profits for them (and stockholders, but mostly them). If we really want to restore jobs in the U.S., this administration needs to apply HUGE tariffs for offshored services.
