Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Wirthless

MW, MN and the rest of the management team deserve every insult thrown at them for the cluster F they have created. If you have Chevron Stock vote against the board and executive pay!

Symbolic move but pointless. Look back on Chevron history and you'll find that 1) No anointed Board member has ever been voted out (not even close), and 2) Hedge funds and investment firms will return the same old gang, typically with 92+% of the vote. I remember in a previous layoff some friends of mine who were axed saying they're going to "get back" at Chevron by selling all their stock. Obviously, this accomplished nothing other than taking out a solid dividend payer from their 401(k)s.

This is why I took the package. Kirkland must be shaking his head watching us get run by risk adverse investment bankers

Layoffs stink. I've been through several of these here at CVX. It always seems like the ones that should go get promoted while others suffer. MW and MN are in charge and none of this stuff even registers on their radar screen. They believe that they are saving the company by making the hard calls. I've finally had enough and am leaving. I don't know everyone else's situation. I find that making a quick, clean cut is the best approach. Hoping or waiting for the optimum time always sounds good but it very difficult to pull off. Good luck to all.

The number of employee owned shares of CVX stock is essentially a rounding error. Institutional investors are the primary owners, the largest in order are Vanguard, State Street, BlackRock, and Berkshire Hathaway.
