YouTube is full of videos about Ford engine failures due to the designs with the “rubber belt” being immersed in oil. Who thought that was a good idea?! People see these videos, tell their friends and the word gets out “don’t buy Ford vehicles because of these engine issues”. You reap what you sow. How upper management is happy that they saved a few bucks by using a belt instead of a chain.
Former Ford employee here. I just went last weekend to help my niece buy a brand new Subaru Crosstrek. We had a very pleasant experience at a beautiful dealership with a great deal to boot. People are buying vehicles, maybe they just aren’t buying Ford vehicles?

US vehicle sales for 2025 will increase to 17.7 millions. Unfortunately, the sales increase are expected to be mostly foreign vehicles. Vehicles that are under $30k are selling like hot cakes. Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda inventory has been depleated. Salesman at these dealerships said they can't keep up with the demand and there are back orders for the next 6 months. This is good for the economy.
Just reinstate DEI in corporate culture. That will fix everything. Right?
