Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What’s the point of ki-ling yourself for a job that wouldn’t even notice if you disappeared tomorrow?

I used to burn the midnight oil thinking it’d pay off, but all it got me was more work dumped on me. These days, I do just enough to stay under the radar, and surprise - no one cares. Less stress, same paycheck. So why are you still bending over backward for a company that wouldn’t even sp-t on you if you were on fire?

I've always worked with the motto "I work to live. I don't live to work." And this is just a reminder of why that is. The company doesn't care at all about you. We've seen high level executives leave and they are replaced quickly and the company rolls on. It might be different at a small business, but not a corporation the size of AT&T. However, AT&T will always take as much as you give, and wonder why you don't give more. You will never give the company enough.

It's up to you to find ways to keep expectations in check.

Absolutely spot on. They wouldn’t p1$$ up our @$$(es) if our guts were on fire.

If this is true, please talk to someone now. If this is not, you're an a-s.

What’s the point of being alive to be slaves to a job?

Kyillin’ myself sounds like the best possible path forward. Anyone with me?

They would notice next time the RTO report came out. And would be itching to cut you loose.
