Thread regarding Ford layoffs

At the end of the day, it’s your call

The truth is, if you’re unhappy at work, that’s your problem to fix. Yeah, Ford might be awful, but you’re the one staying and putting up with it. You have the power to leave. If a new job doesn’t work out, you can just move again. I only stick around because the pay - at least for me - is worth it, but if I didn’t have that, I’d be out.

Yes everyone in life has a choice but not all of them are good options

Especially when one choice interferes with the other. Life isn’t black and white!

Things will get much better at Ford once everyone is back in the office five days a week. You’ll see.

@OP. No sh!t, Sherlock! So you are sticking with Ford because of the paycheck... Why would you think others are not doing the same? What's wrong with wanting to have the paycheck and a good work environment? Most people that are b!tching about Ford have decent paychecks, that's why they stay, but they want to contribute, to give their lives some meaning, or at least, to stop wasting their time doing stoopid tasks, including rework.

I am staying too because of the "easy money", but I'd prefer earn it by working in interesting projects, and not by filling out spreadsheets, Jira stories and being in so many insuferable meetings. Besides, at one point, if the company cannot come with enough products and enough sales, what do you think is going to happen to your "nice paycheck" and your "cushy position"? After all, this is FMC, not the federal government. We need to sell in order to thrive. I would like to keep my paycheck for a while longer, so I am ok with contributing to the bottom line of the company.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to break through the bureaucracy and reach upper management to tell them what’s wrong other than going to public outlets like this.

At the end of the day it is my call. And I'm staying put. Doing just enough to get by, and keep those checks coming in.

A better working environment might bolster productivity, for a short while. But otherwise, I'll need a full-severance layoff to leave.

"You have the power to leave. If a new job doesn’t work out, you can just move again."

Fantastic! Endure all the horsesh-t that comes with a job change, only to quit soon after. Then risk looking like a job-hopper, adding an extra layer of horsesh-t to the process.

You haven't thought this through, have you?

How do we get posts like this deleted, people are here to complain so they don’t have to actually fix their lives.

I enjoy working at Ford very much in our critical organization, Model e. Great leadership, challenging projects, and we are shaping the future. Many of you would have a much more fulfilling career in this group or even in a supporting role.

Look into it if you need a change.
