Micromanagement in the office and during remote work

Some say that the matter of returning to the office is actually a matter of control over us. How can I agree with that when I feel more micromanaged while working from home than in the office!? Do others really feel much more micromanaged in the office than when working remotely?

My manager didn’t have a clue on anything that I did, let alone the hours that I worked.

He’s definitely screwed now.

I work better from home. Much peaceful and as far as the collaboration, a bunch of bs! Nothing but a power move and control freak tactics!

They know butts in seats = collaboration and productivity. Just like managers’ brains don’t work unless they see something in a PowerPoint.

My manger lives a couple of thousand miles away, and I might talk to him every two weeks or so. We don't even know what he does, but we're left alone to get things done.

Yes. My manager couldn't see me screaming into a pillow when I worked from home.
