Cisco has R & D expense of $8B in the income statement. Assuming 40k engineers world wide, the average CTS is $200k per engineer? Why Cisco needs to optimize this using layoffs?

I can tell you where that expense isn’t going… my salary that’s for sure.
8B for R&D and producing absolutely nothing 🤣
Unless the percentage of that number used for bug fixing has dropped dramatically Cisco needs to get rid of people who can't knock down the technical as well as those creating more technical debt, and that includes most of the leadership both technical and managerial.
