I used to put in 110%, but lately, I just can’t find the energy to care. Between all the chaos and constant cuts, my motivation is completely gone. Now, even doing the bare minimum feels like pulling teeth. I know I need to snap out of it, especially with layoffs looming, but I don’t even know where to start.

Your employment is an agreement. You do X and they give you Y. If you do X plus 10% then you are the su---r. Companies hold out a bonus to get you to work more for free. But you have zero influence on the bonus. It’s not a promise it’s a lottery. If the company values the extra work you do they would pay you for it.
Feel 110% the same way. It's like I'm playing with fire doing what I'm doing but I just DON'T CARE at all for some reason. I got the dreaded IM this annual review cycle after being a top performer for years. I got hit 15% on my bonus with no base increase. I hate being like this but I just can't stomach it. I really don't care. I'm hoping to snap out of it soon but we'll see....
I felt the exact same way
I don't get why we have built up so many layers of incomplete middle & senior managers over the years. What is their contribution besides licking boots? There is no need for a manager unless they directly manage at least 8-10 people.

Do enough to get meets or give the perception of more than that. For me that’s an hour a day
I don’t care anymore and am certain my job will be cut, but it could take until next year before my number comes up. Thus, I still have to bust my butt this year to prevent losing my bonus. They’ve got me by the ba--s.
What Scharf and his cronies have done to this bank should be criminal. It's a shell of what it once was. And do they care? He-l no they don't care.
as long as you have a solid rainy day emergency fund along with some severance, do you. If not, best be kissing the brass’ ballz

Been fighting the good fight for years and I 100% agree with you. You can go above & beyond in your role, be an example for others and exceed everything in your role and still only get a meets. Save yourself the grief and look out for yourself, no point in breaking your back if there's no incentive for it.

The only thing an exceeds rating gets you is an extra 1% merit if you're lucky... no reason to do anything over the bare minimum anymore.
