Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Boomer Karens and Chad

They hold so many critical level 5 and even level 6/7 positions in some cases.

But they don't know basic difference between an apple vs windows machine.

Yet their only real "talent" seems to be belittling their own teammates, picking on them (due to their own insecurities) instead of helping each other grow.

They look at you weirdly as you are just getting your morning coffee as if we broke the holy Grail.

These are the kinds of people gen z and some millennials hate coz they create such a toxic environment, that becomes hard to ignore and impact productivity.

PS: Not everyone is here to replace you, but your attitude makes it harder to not shut you down permanently.

isn't 'Chad' slang for an alpha male?

Don't think anyone has disrespect towards any boomers.

A lot of them are genuinely trying to help the new generation by empowering them to do things so they're successful in the firm (speaking from personal experiences).

But I agree, there's also quite a few who are weirdly insecure and prefer sitting on information so they continue to feel "valuable".

It's always amusing to hear imbeciles mock the generation that built the internet that they're using to insult us. Boomers and GenX learned to thrive before Google, hustle before apps and solve problems without broadcasting them. You mock what you don't understand - that is until you need a job reference, a cosigner or someone who knows how to function without a tutorial. Good luck out there and thank you for confirming your ineptness.

You can try instilling some sense into these Karens and they will keep creating awkward, toxic environments with dirty politics.

They're too smart for their own good to think gen z cannot their dirty politics

The chads are fine honestly, IMHO.

It's these Karens that definitely gotta learn some etiquette

The worse part is, these boomers won't even acknowledge their limitations or work on their insecurity issues.

PS: Not all of them are wired that way, I have lot of respect for the ones who have empathy towards new comers and don't see them as a "competition"

But some of these individuals create toxic environment.

Couldn't agree more.

So many of these dinosaurs are good for nothing but looking down upon new generation.

Some of these comments are exactly why people hate these old timers.

We don’t know the difference between a Mac and a PC?

We’re the generation that saw the birth of each one…

Please, just fire yourself.

Are you sure these are boomers you refer to?
Boomers in 2025 are aged 61 thru 79.
