Thread regarding IBM layoffs

In Defense of Arvind

Arvind Krishna is exactly the kind of visionary leader IBM needs in today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape.

Since taking the helm, he's steered the company with clarity, boldness, and a deep understanding of the technologies shaping our future—particularly hybrid cloud and AI. Under his leadership, IBM has not only modernized but redefined its focus, positioning itself as a global leader in enterprise innovation.

What makes Arvind Krishna stand out isn’t just his technical expertise—he holds a PhD in electrical engineering—it’s his ability to translate that expertise into transformative business strategy. The $34 billion Red Hat acquisition he championed was a masterstroke, giving IBM a competitive edge in open-source and hybrid cloud solutions.

He’s also led with integrity and a sense of purpose, pushing IBM to embrace responsible AI, sustainability, and diversity in a meaningful way.

IBM is lucky to have a CEO like Arvind Krishna—one who blends technical brilliance with strategic foresight and a steady hand. The future is brighter with him at the helm.

Really tired of this troll extolling Arvind's imaginary virtues with the blind stupidity of a MAGA a--hat worshipping everything Trump does.

The reason so many of us hate Arvind is because he has destroyed so many lives for his personal enrichment - lthe lives of our friends and colleagues and our own lives as well. Thanks to Arvind, I have no future here and it used to be bright - and I hate not just him but the entire company. Morale is the worst since 1993.

You want us to extoll his virtues because he has managed to get the stock price up by laying off most of the US. Seriously - bite me. I only care about the stock price up to the point that I sell the stock; once I am gone, I could care less about the company or the stock price. This used to be a place where I loved to work. I am shocked at how fast Arvind has destroyed this company.

I used to be proud to work at IBM. I no longer am. We do not sell solutions that people want to use. He-l, the Watson orchestrate team has carbon components that they have designed that they can't even use because the developers were laid off. That's supposed to be one of our flagship products. How stupid is that? He is a shortsighted greedy little fu-k.

Arvind has negative integrity. No one's buying your bullsh-t. He is the worst CEO in our history, selling the seed corn for a quick buck - FULL FU--ING STOP.

Lol he is a joke. He violated company policy in threatening every Us employee who did not get COVID vax. Listen to his speeches and you will realize he says nothing. There is no vision

What often happens to in high tech is that the CEO is nothing more than a cheerleader. The brains behind Quantum and AI are the technical people and inventors that are actually shaping the technology and are removing technical barriers to adoption. I get a little tired of executives taking credit and being rewarded by the board when the real smart and hard working people are the ones on the ground.

quite the opposite! he's a bullsh-tter, the stuff he says is incoherent. he's presided over an absolute war against his own employees in the US with historically dishonest deterrents (RBA, RTO) and defacto layoffs (RTO). he's cut off the company's ability to deliver at the knees. watch what happens next- he retires with the stock price inflated but IBM flounders even harder

Arvinds compensation package is justified because it’s largely performance-based and tied to IBM’s transformation success. Under his leadership, IBM has refocused on AI and hybrid cloud, spun off legacy units, and delivered strong financial results. His pay is aligned with industry standards—often less than peers—and includes typical executive perks necessary for retention and security. Ultimately, his package reflects the scale of responsibility and the tangible value he brings to IBM’s future.

When Jim Kavanaugh advises employees to learn more skills, it isn’t corporate fluff—it’s survival advice in the age of automation and AI. Consider:
• Future-Proofing Careers: With AI and cloud reshaping entire industries, employees who upskill in areas like data analytics, automation, and cloud engineering position themselves for long-term relevance

@av the IBM HR troll

More revenue would have be beneficial but a higher dividend - more than the miserly 1 cent per share share dividend increase - is inexcusable for a multi-billion dollar company. After all Alvind gets a $100 million bonus in 2026. Do you even get a tiny fraction of that ?

Hi Alvind's Mom (OP) - are you making sure Alvind is wearing his blonde wig and big eye lashes to the office today ? Krabanaugh is coming to town, for a dirty weekend.

It is much too early to defend Arvind. Until we see healthier revenue growth and not so much focus on cutting costs by letting people go left and right, we should not be applauding his performance just yet

The hate towards Arvind is off the charts. Why all the animosity? He is bringing pride and respect back to the IBM Brand. I love these acquisitions. It is smart business sense to acquire. More revenue is beneficial,
