Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

what does your layoff/severance package look like?

I refused mine since it was garbage and plan on legal action to get a decent offer. Can you guys share what was your severance package looked like? Thanks in advanced.

I think I was unfairly discriminated, and received no offer since "I was let go" with no severance. They stated performance but it is baloney, I was consistently outperforming my colleagues, especially my "foreign" recent hires.

Companies are not obligated to offer severance package but State Street offers it to prevent workers from suing the company, left and right. That's why HR/Legal require us to sign and send back the agreement document before employee termination date.

It's good that OP is not willingly accepting the package. Any effected workers should considering consulting with an employment lawyer first before signing anything to State Street. Gather any evidence of discrimination and other wrong doing to see what your options are.

Yes two weeks is the standard for the average worker, the higher ups based on their
title/position will get 3 weeks per year .

Your wasting your time, I hate to tell you. But a company is under no legal obligation
to give its workers a severance package.
