Wonder why they laid people off only to bring them back the following week...
I mean it's good but odd they could have placed them in other positions prior to laying them off.

They got hit with a lawsuit last week from shareholders. I'm not sure when they were informed about it. I had seen it posted on the news last week. Maybe they need to bring people back to cancel out the allocated funds for severance pay to cover that debt, and then let people go for other reasons. That's a risky situation as far as I'm concerned. I also wouldn't trust it. More staff were let go today. I also wonder about Witty, if it was his decision to offer the VRSP? Was that in his scope of decisions? Wasn't the "new" CEO also in the same stock sell off with BT and the other's last summer? So much going on, it's hard to keep track anymore. Best of luck to everyone. Still waiting for my boxes to arrive & not taking any calls from unknown numbers.

If you were an "advocate" or a "health navigator" please know the Housecalls NPs were all told NOTHING. You guys were all so helpful when we called to assist members and suddenly you were just "gone." Maybe a hint of the word "restructuring" was used but otherwise we were told "that program is gone. Just tell the member to call the number on the back of the card."
YES!! They are bringing back Advocates to fill vacated positions. One region lost 4+ Acct Mgrs and now they are calling the laid off back.. I hope they say no cuz they got better offers from a better company!!

Looks like they bit off more then they can chew and now they see just how much the advocates were doing.
I've also heard they are bringing back some of the advocates they laid off. But it may be just a rumor.
Of all the ones I heard from it was all for a higher rate of pay.
I was laid off now my department is hiring for two new people for E&I so either they want to pay lower wags since we had over 15 years some of us found jobs with Optum may not not to get that 15 weeks of free pay in severance and not working
