Used to be proud to work here. Believed in the work, the culture, the people but hat version of Exxon’s long gone.
Now it’s just fake deadlines, short handed teams, meetings about meetings, and disconnect management. Most the folks that actually know the oil business are either gone, checked out, or barely hanging on. And every time someone leaves, it’s like we just pretend nothing happened and shift the work around.
Still here… for now. But it feels like we’re just papering stuff over while work moves to the low cost tech centers. Wouldn’t be surprised of more US layoffs are already in the pipe. Nobody says much but seems like the writings on the wall.
