WTF-- I get maybe you're bored etc. But if you know you're out the door at some point get the training you want and prep for severance/next job.
If you're going to laid off the best situation is to know well ahead of time so you can prepare vs. the shock of finding out that morning.
I got laid off a bunch of years ago b/c of cr-p leadership + reorg + whatever stupid sh*t was going on at the time. It was right before Thanksgiving. Talk about shock and wondering WTF you were going to do next. At least back then there was 30 working/30 nonworking and I found a job before end of year. I pretty much had about 2 months of some stress, but not doing much of anything. My boss got laid off + a few other people. By boss' boss was decent about it and didn't want it to happen-- he and other leaders still around were looking around to help me find a spot w/in the company. Funny thing and poetic justice-- they're all gone and I'm still here. Su-k it dou--e bags.
I'm remote and I was told q3. I declined relo.
To collect a severance, like the rest of us.
